The Diamond Jubilee 2012
The Diamond Jubilee is a celebration of Queen's 60 year reign and Her Majesty has an exciting weekend lined up with events and activities happening all over the capital. The Diamond Jubilee weekend is Saturday 2nd June - Tuesday 5th June and there are lots of events planned for the celebrations.
Events include, the Queen attending the Epsom Derby, where Katherine Jenkins, the multi-platinum selling mezzo-soprano will perform the national anthem to Her Majesty. London, hosts the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant and Her Majesty will be sailing down the Thames on the Royal Barge past over 1,000 boats that have been assembled from the UK, the Commonwealth and across the world.
The celebrations also include the BBC Concert where British and Commonwealth musicians will be performing for Her Majesty at Buckingham Palace and the Queen will then light the Diamond Jubilee Beacon at a central London location as well as a Service of Thanksgiving at St Paul's Cathedral and a formal carriage procession by The Queen.
