Where else but Summer Camp?
No matter, what your level of expertise, you can learn
more about ClientBase with the intensive training
available over the 2 ? days starting August 17th. We
have classes for beginners and advanced users. And you
can double up, saving on registration cost -two for the
price of one. Great place to meet and talk with your
peers about their experiences. The venue is great - the
Westin at Kierland Commons in Scottsdale. This is a very
relaxed way to learn. Some great shopping right next
door too.
Click for more details. Hope to see you or some of
your employees there.

Tips
|
|
If you are synching, you need someone set as manager
in ClientBase Windows. Within User Logins, you
can set your utilization level to Manager vs User. It
has some benefits. If you are synching, you will be
notified as part of the login when your sync is out of
date. If you are also using CBO, you can change the user
settings without logging in as SYSDBA.
Color me blue. In the 3.6 version of
ClientBase, you can set the fonts on a VIP name and
address to blue. Now when that someone calls, you can
recognize them as a VIP. That customer who hasn't booked
anything in the past couple of years can be set in Red.
BTW - You can do this using Global Modify too. And if
you don't like blue, there are other colors you can use.
TouchBase - do you know what it is?
We check your ClientBase database for customers
with birthdays, wedding anniversaries, expiring
passports, leaving on a trip, returning from a trip, and
new customers to mention a few. All of them get a
personalized greeting from you (See
samples). You too can become one of the many
ClientBase users who receive nice complimentary
responses from your customers for thinking of them. And
just as important - they may remember you when they
start thinking about their next trip. Ask your Sales Rep
for names of other agencies using TouchBase. They will
tell you how good it is. Now you can do what your
suppliers are doing.
You need a Marketing Category for past
travelers to identify which suppliers they used in
the past. If you don't already have it,
add a new category for past travel. Include
Suppliers you don't normally sell. Also, be sure to
include Suppliers who no longer exist like Royal
Cruise Line and even Sitmar. It is also a good idea
to include Radisson Seven Seas. You could be
surprised what you can learn about your prospects.
The survey tool which is part of TouchBase, could
help you collect that data.
See sample here.

Part of the whole
Trams® was acquired by Sabre Travel Network® over 5 years
ago. As a result of that acquisition, you became a Sabre
Travel Network customer overnight, even though you may
not be using the GDS (Global Distribution System)
services of Sabre Travel Network. Now more than ever,
you need a travel supplier that goes beyond those
"traditional" thoughts and applications of the past.
With the introduction of Sabre® RedTM - your total
travel solution - our company has expanded how a
technology partner can support your travel agency needs
throughout your business operations. Sabre Travel
Network is looking to help you increase your business
performance and drive that customer loyalty through the
great tools you'll be learning more about at Summer
Camp; no matter whose GDS services you use.
So, if you haven't been welcomed enough already, welcome
to the Sabre Travel Network family. We know you're
looking to stay ahead, and we're here to help.
Conferences
We have and will be attending all of the Consortium
conferences over the next few months. We have a lot of
exciting new things to show you, so we hope you will
stop by and talk to us in our Sabre Travel Network booth. At some we
will be doing a breakout session on how to improve the
quality of the data in your database. This is an area
that needs the attention of every owner. Whether it is
Summer Camp or a Consortium Conference, we urge you to
take the time to listen and see examples of what we are
talking about.

Know your product
To maximize the benefit of attending our live WebEx
classes or accessing the recorded trainings please know
whether you're a Windows, Browser or Online user and
attend the associated classes. (If you're a manager,
advise your staff which you use.) And make sure that if
you're a ClientBase Online user (CBB or CBO) and join a
daily Windows Q & A that you identify yourself as such.
Otherwise, the trainer will provide the answer on the
Windows version which will lead to confusion.

Live Connect
|
Live Connect.
is what we call the process within ClientBase that
allows you to connect to over 80 different supplier
booking engines, automatically login, pass profile
information from ClientBase to many of the booking
engines and import the complete booking with itinerary
information back into ClientBase. You might be surprised
to learn that it saves proficient users a significant
amount of time. You can actually book a cruise for a
customer while you are talking to them. It requires so
few key strokes - if your profiles are complete in
ClientBase - you can talk and book. I don't know about
you, but while some of us can't talk and type, we can
talk and walk. A one phone call conversation and
simultaneous booking is doable.
Two new Canadian Live Connects.
The Globus and Travel Bound have just released new Live
Connects which are exclusively available for our
Canadian Customers.
Check out the current list on our website.
Regent Seven Seas.
I am surprised how few have used the Regent Seven Seas
Live Connect. This is a great way to book those cruises.
Live Connect training.
Join us in our Live Connect Session at Summer Camp
which will include hands on booking in a lab
environment.
